About

My name is Josh and I am an engineer. I think the world that we live in is amazing, and engineering helps me make the most of it.

I am an Avionics Systems Engineer at SpaceX. Since starting at SpaceX in 2011, I have worked on the Dragon spacecraft that currently services the International Space Station. I am now helping to design the next version of the Dragon spacecraft which will carry astronauts to Station.

In my free time, I enjoy building robots and other small engineering projects, exploring the Los Angeles nightlife with friends, climbing and ultime Frisbee, playing the drums and guitar, and occasionally seeing my family up in Valencia, CA.

The Website

This website has been online since December 13, 2004 and has gone through a number of iterations since that time. Some major milestones include:

  • 2004 – launched website on a Fedora box in my closet running a custom model-view-controller (MVC) framework
  • 2008 – left home for college; moved website to a third-party web host (dreamhost.com)
  • 2012 – websites have become less of a hobby; dumped my custom MVC framework for WordPress
